Kiros Teghegne Berhane

With an education and background in Statistics and Biostatistics, Professor Kiros Berhane has studied around the world. His academic qualifications include: B.Sc. (Statistics), Addis Ababa University, Addis Ababa, 1986; Certificate, International Centre for Pure and Applied Mathematics, Nice, France, 1988; M.Sc (Statistics), University of Guelph, 1991; Ph.D. (Biostatistics), University of Toronto, Toronto, 1994. Dr. Berhane completed his Postdoctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, Department of Biostatistics.

Dr. Berhane is currently an Assistant Professor of Preventive Medicine at the University of Southern California. His most recent research includes projects such as: Innovative Statistical Approaches to Modeling Multiple Outcome Data from the NSABP-BCPT, Statistical Methods for Environmental and Genetic Research (National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences), Epidemiologic Investigation to Identify Chronic Effects of Ambient Air Pollutants in Southern California, National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences Environmental Exposures, Host Factors and Human Disease (Biostatistics Service Core), National Institutes of Health Children's Center - Respiratory Disease and Prevention Community Based Childhood Asthma Prevention/Intervention, Southern NIAID/NIH HIV Study Consortium (WIHS), and Time Related Factors in Cancer Epidemiology.
